To echo our last writing, bedrooms need to be relaxing and free from additional clutter – here’s a handful of tips and tricks for clearing your space, to give you extra room for a wonderful night’s sleep!
Three Important Categories.
Keep, Give-Away or Throw.
Before you start clearing things away, take a look of all of the items currently in your room and ask yourself how much you really need to keep. Taking clothing storage as an example, pack summer clothing away when it’s snowing outside – but before you do, would there be anything that you could donate to charity, or has something been worn a little too much – it may be worth popping it into the bin.
Enhance your Shelf Life.
Shelves serve as a perfect showcase for bits and pieces within the bedroom – place candles, books, picture frames and perfume bottles on display to free up space elsewhere.
Take Your Things Under Bed…
Under bed storage is ideal for keeping clutter out of sight. Invest in vacuum bags to decrease the overall space that clothing and softer items take up, whilst keeping them safe away from dust.
Or, Bring it Above.
Vertical space is often unexplored in traditional bedrooms – where possible, store items higher to create a floor-to-ceiling installment. Remember to keep things in-keeping with the overall feel of your bedroom, perhaps by investing in beautiful storage boxes and baskets.
Upcycle, upcycle, upcycle!
Create small bedroom units from items elsewhere in your home. Have a wooden crate from your local garden center? Create a unique bedside table with it!
