Creating The Most Luxurious Bedrooms in the World

Your bedroom is your own private quarters where you can escape from the chaos of the outside world and enjoy some quiet serenity at the end of each day.

It is therefore important to surround yourself with your own home comforts and perhaps take inspiration from other luxurious bedrooms around the world that you may have experienced whilst holidaying or on business trips.

Although everyone has their own personal perceptions of what constitutes luxury, we have put together five of the most common trends that you tend to find in many of what are considered to be the most luxurious bedrooms in the world. Recreating these styles may prove easier and more affordable than you had previously thought; even if you are dealing with a smaller bedroom…

1. The Feeling of Space

A common trend found at many of the most luxurious bedrooms around the world is the feeling of space. This is easy to achieve if you are furnishing a large bedroom, but what can you do if you are constrained in this regard?

Even those with the smallest of bedrooms can take actions which will help to create the illusion of space. For instance, opting for Venetian mirrored bedroom furniture would be a great way of achieving this with the mind being tricked into thinking that the room is larger than it actually is on account of the wider room being reflected. Trust us, this may sound silly but it does work!

You could also make the room feel taller by leaving a gap of about 10cm between the ceiling and the edge of your chosen wallpaper or wall paint. Painting this gap the same colour as the ceiling will help to create an illusion of height for the occupant.

2. Less Is More

It is an old fashioned view to think that a luxurious bedroom needs to be filled with a plethora of riches reminiscent of an Egyptian Pharaohs tomb.

In fact, less often tends to be more with minimalism being very much a key interior design theme for 2021. This also fits in with the before mentioned quest for space. Filling a bedroom with too many items can have the effect of worsening this issue.

For instance, if you are looking to furnish a smaller room, then you need not opt for something lavish such as a four poster bed if you are seeking to create a luxury feel. Buying a bed which has a low footboard can often prove preferable in such scenarios.

3. Doubling Up

Many of the most luxurious bedrooms around the world often come with an accent chair. This is effectively an item of bedroom seating which adds to the aesthetic in addition to being a place to sit. This can however be difficult to accommodate, particularly if you furnishing a smaller bedroom.

It is however possible to achieve a compromise if you purchase an ottoman which will also double up as a bedroom storage box. This will provide you with a handy place to hide many of your necessary items; eliminating space accumulating clutter, while also providing you with the bedroom seating that you desire.

4. Spruce up the Essentials

Actively seeking to keep the number of items in the room to a minimum doesn’t mean that you can’t indulge yourself with luxury when it comes to essential bedroom features.

Take for instance the headboard of your bed. This is a regular feature of all beds, so why not lavish yourself with something striking such as one of our luxurious velvet headboards?
These not only look elegant but also serve as a comfortable place to rest your head each night as you ease yourself into the land of nod.

5. Dress to Impress

Another common feature in many of the most luxurious bedrooms in the world is the presence of lavish upholstery such as an expensive throw or blanket laid out across the bottom of your bed. This not only serves to warm you during those cold winter nights, but can also add a significant amount to the aesthetic of the wider room.

Make your choice widely. You want to pick something which complements your chosen interior design theme, whilst also managing to be a noticeable feature.

A great way of doing this is to pick out one of the tertiary colours you have chosen and accentuating it with a matching throw, along with other feature items such as vases and candles in the same colour.
